A platform for live online classes that works like a real classroom
Video calls were built for meetings, not lessons. When you teach live, you need to write on a board, split the class into groups, check understanding with a quick poll and share the recording afterwards. You also don't want students installing apps or getting cut off halfway through a class.
The problem with "just use a video call"
- Meeting tools hide the teaching features behind settings, or don't have them at all.
- Time limits and per-host licences make it hard to plan a full timetable.
- Classes end up in one tool, courses and grades in another, and recordings scattered across teachers' laptops.
What you get with Video Classroom
A live classroom that runs in the browser and is built for teaching:
- Whiteboard and screen sharing, so you can explain, annotate and show.
- Breakout rooms for group work, and polls to check understanding in seconds.
- Recordings that students can watch again.
- Nothing to install for students. They join from a link, or straight from your course platform.
- Works with the platform you already use: Moodle, Chamilo, WordPress, Joomla and other platforms through LTI.
- Classes planned around your timetable.
Two engines, one choice made for you
Video Classroom runs on one of two open-source engines. Your implementation partner helps you choose:
- BigBlueButton is the long-established open-source virtual classroom and the standard live-class activity in Moodle, with downloadable MP4 recordings.
- plugNmeet is a modern open-source classroom (MIT licence), provided by MynaParrot, the technology provider. It adds optional AI captions, live translation and summaries powered by Gemini from Google, attendance that counts in Moodle, and plugins for Moodle, WordPress, Joomla and other platforms through LTI.
Who it's for
Schools, universities, language academies, training providers and tutors who teach live every week and need it to just work.
